Out there. In the alps.
The Lodges at Sixt collect four individual apartments under one unique roof. Housed in a former working farm, the Lodges are a footprint on the untamed frontier – a comfortable place for families, friends, and anyone else looking for a taste of the authentic Alps. The Lodges at Sixt are available for seasonal rental. Please click on THIS LINK to enquire about availability.
From the wood cladding (which comes in one regulated shade, to fit the scenery) to the artwork daubed on interior doors, we are keeping as much of The Lodges’ cliffside charm intact as possible during renovations.
The village itself remains similarly untouched: smoke billows from wood fires stoked with locally-sourced logs, waterfalls cascade from glaciers hidden above the rim of the mountain ranges, and an itinerant cast of walkers, climbers, mountain bikers, and Alpine explorers set up camp in the area before venturing up to the cliff faces of the Cirque du Fer à Cheval.
In creating The Lodges, our goal is to make these spectacular surroundings accessible and affordable for anyone passionate about the rugged nature of the real Alps. The Lodges sit on the outskirts of a gigantic nature preserve, with more than 250km of unspoilt hiking trails and ski touring, while the hamlet itself – packed with history and heritage sites – is right on their doorstep.
The Lodges offer self-catering, with kitchens in each apartment, while a small number of restaurants and bars – serving locals and visitors with Savoyard cuisine – are available on the quiet streets of Sixt itself. For a livelier atmosphere, Samoëns is a short drive or taxi journey away, and is the place to be for après-ski.
Our apartments blend the quiet and the quirks of Alpine life, with unique, authentic accommodation brought bang up to date with creature comforts: WiFi, English and French TV, essential dining equipment, and dry place to store your bikes, belays, and boards.
Each apartment is bookable alone or as part of a complete property for larger parties, and our local friends can be booked in advance to cook hearty mountain meals, or provide packed lunches, allowing the whole family – or friends – to grab a quick coffee, then get out and explore this secluded, unspoilt part of the Grand Massif.
